Theo’s Comedy Skool gave me the opportunity to try stand-up comedy in front of an audience of over 120 people on a professional comedy night. Before the workshop began I had no intention to carry on in stand-up after the course had finished, but 3 years later I’m still at it.

Thanks to Theo’s advice and coaching I was picked to perform at the BBC’s ‘Stand Up If You Dare’ at the Glee Club Birmingham and have been privileged enough to support top stand-up comics such as Rob Rouse and Gary Delaney.

At work I was always considered a ‘Funny man’, but after problems at work
my confidence and enthusiasm fell through the floor. Then I signed up for Theo’s Comedy Skool and I thought, ‘I have nothing to lose’.

The process is iterative; you build your confidence, develop techniques and share funnies with Theo over the course.

 The gig itself was one of the best experiences of my life, you unclip the mic, drop your first funny and then it’s like waiting for your parachute to open. Laughter is one of the few responses you can ‘make’ someone do and frankly I love it.

I’ve gone on to gig over 30 times to audiences of up to 100 and most importantly I’ve got my confidence and enthusiasm back and I’m running my own business.
